Trauma-Informed Counseling
Trauma can come in a lot different packages including (but certainly not limited to) surviving life-threatening accidents or medical experiences, childhood abuse or neglect, loss of a loved one, birth experiences where you felt concerned for the safety of yourself or your child, or even the threatened loss of community support based on different or evolving beliefs, values, and worldview. It is not so much the details of the story that define trauma, but the way it continues to impact your quality of life, relationship to self and others, behaviors, and feelings. The relationship we create in counseling will provide a space of safety and support for you to explore the ways in which the twists and turns of your experience continue to impact your life.
